Western Kenya sits on the northern edge of the Lake Victoria goldfields. The belts have been worked since the 1930s and the Mining Act 2016 gave the sector a licensing regime that rewards the formal operator.

01Kenya
The western belts
Migori in the south-west and Kakamega further north carry most of Kenya's production. Both are worked by cooperatives and licensed small-scale operators. Our Nairobi team buys from licensed dealers and cooperatives in these districts, with assay and settlement in Kisumu or Nairobi.
02Kenya
Exploration
Kenyan greenstone is under-explored by modern standards. We hold and evaluate prospecting licences with Kenyan partners along the known belts and in Turkana and West Pokot, where recent artisanal finds point to more.
Programmes are staged. Mapping and soil geochemistry first, trenching and shallow drilling only once a target has earned it. Data is shared with the partner and filed with the Ministry where required.
