Upper Guinea sits on the western edge of the Birimian, the terrain that carries the gold of Ghana, Mali and Burkina Faso. Siguiri has been mined since the Mali Empire and is one of the largest artisanal districts on the continent today.

01Guinea
The Siguiri basin
Siguiri, Kouroussa and Mandiana prefectures hold hundreds of artisanal and small-scale sites organised under the Mining Code. We buy doré from licensed collectors and from cooperatives holding artisanal permits, consolidate and assay in Siguiri and export through Conakry.
02Guinea
Mechanisation
Many Siguiri sites have the depth and grade to support a small mechanised mine. We partner with Guinean permit holders to fund and manage the move from pit-and-shaft work to organised open pits with proper processing, water management and rehabilitation.

Exploration
The Guinean Birimian is thinly drilled compared with Ghana or Mali. We hold and evaluate exploration permits in Upper Guinea and welcome approaches from permit holders with data to share.
